Spider

Location : EAST Hong Kong
Artist : Christopher K. Ho

Spider is a deliberately ambiguous brass sculpture; a self-contained puzzle that is an exercise in looking. Informed by architect John Hejduk’s teachings on space and perspective, the work embodies modernist ideals and their resonance today, reimagining the structural clarity of architectural design through shifting engagements with form. The work was created as part of the series “Return to Order” (2022-25), which narrates the re-evaluation of place and identity through the artist’s own return to Hong Kong, after an extended period teaching and creating in New York.
